What do HBFD Fire Explorers do?

 

The Huntington Beach Fire Department Fire Explorer Program offers controlled, classroom based and hands-on training:

  • Hose lay and proper ladder techniques

​

  • Cut apart cars using vehicle extrication tools

​

  • Practice search and rescue techniques

​

  • Obtain CPR certification

​

  • Ropes, knots, and repelling techniques

​

  • Fight real fire in controlled settings

​

  • Coordinated training with our Marine Safety Division

​
